The bluesign® system is a program for a more sustainable textile production. It eliminates harmful substances right from the beginning of the manufacturing process and sets and controls standards for a safe production with less negative environmental impact. This ensures that the final textile product meets stringent consumer safety requirements. Icebug started to nominate bluesign® approved textile materials from 2016.
From small trial batches, we have come a long way to having nearly 100% of our upper and lining textile materials bluesign® certified. As a footwear-only brand, Icebug can’t be a bluesign® system partner, but through certified suppliers, we can access the same material library and develop our own materials that are certified and gone through stringent tests that assure material safety.
