We commit to donating 1% of our total sales to non-profit environmental organizations
Since January first 2020 Icebug is a member of 1% for the planet. That means that we commit to donating 1% of our total sales, regardless if we’re making a profit or not, to non-profit environmental organizations.
We joined to solidify our commitment to take our responsibility for the transformation to a sustainable future, on a planet in balance. As a business, we see this as a license to operate, and we look forward to joining this movement adding a little more momentum to it and encouraging others to do the same.
We steer our involvement in 1% for the planet towards climate change mitigation – organizations that work towards decreasing greenhouse gas emissions and to keep re-generative eco-systems intact. The latter will also have a positive effect on biodiversity which is another critical aspect of the planetary boundaries.
Some of the organizations we have supported so far:
- Protect Our Winters (POW), who specialize in climate advocacy
- Naturarvet, conservation of old-growth forest
- IDH - The Sustainable Trade Initiative, building solar infrastructure in Vietnam
- Build up Nepal,
- Naturvernforbundet,
- Naturskyddsföreningen,
We’re looking forward to going further in these co-operations and also getting involved with new partners – either supporting with direct funds, visibility or helping with our expertise in different fields.
